Hello Everyone!
My name is Gianna Formica and I teach 5th grade at River Valley School in Lemont for District 113a. I am very excited to be teaching the group of students this year and cannot wait for it to commence!
A little bit about me...
I graduated from Benedictine University with a BA in Elementary Education. I spent my three years at BenU living on campus and enjoying the life in Lisle, IL. I now live back at home in Oak Lawn, IL with my mom, dad, sister, brother, and two dogs. In my free time, I enjoy watching new shows on Netflix. When I'm not here at school, you can find me coaching cheerleading and softball!
Before we begin the school year, I would like you to know some of my expectations for the classroom.
1. I do not believe in giving homework for a grade. All homework in my class will be assigned as classwork students did not finish and will be counted for completion grades only.
2. My classroom is a Social Emotional Learning classroom where I integrate this style into existing lessons and subjects. (more on this here)
3. I have a set of rules that students will be expected to follow with specific outlined consequences for misrepresentation of the rules. Find more information here.
